Designing Sound Futures is a York University funded research project focusing on sound, technology, inclusive design, and transdisciplinary learning.

Sounds Out of Bounds Project

Developed with and for Community Music Schools of Toronto (CMST): Sounds out of Bounds supports learning the art of modular synthesis. Project leads: Kurt Thumlert, Jason Nolan, and Heidi Chan with Richard Marsella (developed for CMST at Regent Park and Jane and Finch with support of a Helen Carswell Engaged Research in the Arts grant).

Learn Modular Synths by exploring the available resources, manufacturer guides, video demos, and tutorials. You can find product documentation and manuals, as well as a number of videos to walk you through working with key modules like the Korg Sequencer, the System80 880 drum machine, the System80 VCOs, VCF, and LFO/Sample and Hold modules, and MATHS.
